KRO-NCRV's 'New Farmers' not only allows the viewer to experience the tension of survival on the farm, but also shows how we as modern people have become increasingly distant from where our food comes from. For a month, twelve candidates survive on a farm where time has stood still. Completely self-sufficient, without electricity, without wifi and without running water, but with lots of animals and land that needs to be cared for and maintained daily. Nothing is self-evident here for anyone. Everything takes time and effort, especially if you have no farming experience and are therefore dependent on your common sense. Who can best work together to keep the farm running? Who is the most valuable to the group and who knows how to stay in the game the longest? Because in addition to working together, the twelve participants also have to compete against each other and each episode with a duel determines who has to leave the farm.

Each episode portrays a few English country boys in their twenties who could be farm heirs of otherwise start farmer life. Thery come from different counties and work in different sectors, like sheep, crops, pigs. They must deal with family and/or bosses ans square social life or even a relationship with the incessant demands of any farm.

The Laxá Farmers is about old farmers who 40 years ago blew up a dam to save their valley. They had protested for years but were losing the battle and being chased off their land when in the middle of the night they brought out the dynamite. This event marks the birth of environmentalism in Iceland. The farmers won a court case against them by sticking together and all confessing. For 40 years they have never revealed the secret. Until now.

A cooking competition at a farmers' market puts two teams of chefs in a race to see who can create the most crowd-pleasing (and money-making) dish while under extreme time constraints.

Outskirts of Moscow. A girl comes to an unfamiliar apartment to look after a dog. After a while, she realizes that the owner of the apartment has disappeared. She finds herself into a series of people that have been taking care of the dog for years in that same apartment, creating a weird community around this strange absence of the owner.

An 8-year-old boy runs away from home and meets a scientist, who transforms him into a young man of 28, although mentally, he remains a child.

Suryah plays a child who enraged by his mother`s nagging goes to a mad scientist (Manivannan) and has himself transformed into a 28-year old. In his new found adulthood, he starts an unwitting love affair with the daughter (Simran) of a toy store magnate (Nasser), and gets a job as a designer of children`s toys.
